Teaching Kids About Money: Fun Stuff – What We’re Reading Now

Even Warren Buffett knows that when it comes to teaching kids about money, it’s OK to have a little fun.  Buffett’s new video series, “Secret Millionaires Club” offers tips to kids on making investing an enjoyable activity. Kids will learn practical and valuable lessons about money management and can easily relate to the easy-going and fun, animated series.
On the project, Buffett commented, “It’s never too early to help kids understand about money. Whether it’s understanding the cost of the new toy they want, or the value of saving money. Kids are exposed to money matters from a very young age, so why not help them understand it and develop healthy habits early on?”

And speaking of “never too early” – this same sentiment was expressed by Money Girl Laura Adams in a recent interview: “As soon as children start reading or attending pre-school is the perfect time to begin teaching them the ABCs of money. There are fantastic books, games, and kits created for children as young as 4-years-old. Since every child is different, try several different resources to see which ones your child responds to or likes best.”
